Trust

Trust is one of the attitudes of mindfulness that we can consciously cultivate.

We know that when the sun sets in the evening, that it’ll rise again the next morning. We know that after an out-breath, there will be another in-breath.

We often don’t give this much thought, as we simply trust in nature‘s wisdom.

We can consciously strengthen this attitude of trust in our meditation practice, by tuning into the natural workings of our body, heart and mind. With practice, we start understanding ourselves better and become more trustworthy towards ourselves and others.

I find tapping into this quality of trust especially supportive during these trying Covid times, with new lockdowns under way and uncertainty looming ahead.

Can we trust the science, trust the people who make decisions .. (not blindly, of course) .. can we trust that this too will pass?
