Mindful Life Skills

Mindfulness: what is the big deal?

While many are familiar with the benefits of mindfulness, as an awareness-building and self-regulating practice, I still get a sense that people tend to make more of an effort to look after their physical health rather than their mental wellbeing.

I find this such a shame and firmly believe that both are equally important and heavily interlinked. For example, we all know that when we push ourselves too hard, or experience periods of ongoing stress, we feel exhausted and run the risk of getting a burn-out (with potentially serious physical repercussions).

So essentially mindfulness practice offers us a gateway to

🌱 understanding our individual patterns of thinking that drive how we feel, behave and interact with others
🌱 regulating what we pay attention to and how we pay attention
🌱 keeping us aligned with our values and what is most important

While people often join mindfulness courses when they feel out of balance (due to stress, exhaustion, overwhelm etc ..), please know that you do not have to have any symptoms to adopt mindfulness in your life.

In fact, the earlier you start with your training, the more it will serve you. My clients often tell me: ‘If only we were taught these life skills at school!’.

I took a mindfulness course back in 2018, just out of curiosity, and it changed my life.

So if you haven’t yet, it may be worth finding out if practising mindfulness can also positively impact YOUR life
